The Flow Country Partnership are Hiring!

We are very excited to announce that we are currently hiring within the Flow Country Partnership. We’re looking for a Project Development Officer for The Flow Country World Heritage Site team.

The Flow Country was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in July 2024, in recognition of the Outstanding Universal Value of its blanket bog ecosystem. It is the world’s first and currently only peatland WHS and, as such, plays a critical role in the advancement of the understanding and appreciation of peatland habitats, for nature and people.

We are looking for someone with experience in co-ordinating funding applications to help us prepare and submit a project development application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The resulting project will help us realise the full potential of the Flow Country World Heritage Site (WHS) through investment in sustainable tourism, community engagement, skills development, peatland restoration and shining a global light on the World’s first and only peatland WHS.

It will build on the findings of our recently completed Sustainable Tourism Strategy and Project Development work, focusing on the theme ‘Peat, People, Planet’.

The post will be hosted by The Highland Council on behalf of the Flow Country Partnership.
